David Hanson – STEM Chairman

David is BIEA’s STEM Chairman with over 40 years of experience within the UK education sector. As one of the most influential and respected figure in education, David started his career as a teacher in London comprehensive schools and later was a heads’ mentor, Ofsted inspector and Director of Education. He was Academies Project Leader at United Learning Trust and then EC Harris, the international built assessment management group. During his career, David has also been Chief Executive of the Teaching Awards Trust, working with Lord Putnam and the BBC.  He was President of the Association of Assessment Inspectors and Advisers and Editor of the British Journal of Curriculum and Assessment for five years. More recently, David was CEO of IAPS, the private schools group. David has provided consultancy advice, support and training in UK, Europe, SE Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
